Aviation High School’s Interact Club has had a long successful relationship with The Airport Rotary Club. Interact members regularly attend weekly Rotary breakfasts and communicate back to our school community on subjects such as current aviation news, events at the airport and of course Rotary fundraising events. In turn, the Aviation Rotary Club support our school by assisting our fundraising and open days, whilst providing many sponsorships and scholarships for educational opportunities offered by universities and aviation industries. We are extremely proud of our community relationship with the Airport Rotary Club.
Every year the Interact Club grows and students who join realize the importance of building and supporting their community and they all talk about how good it feels to help members of that community who are less fortunate or who experience hardships. We support charities such as RSPCA by making and selling cupcakes; St Vincent’s where the students donated food items and we packaged them up as Christmas Hampers to help underprivileged local families. Also, we have donated money to Rotary for their Hummingbird House appeal and we support Careflight, who regularly invite our school to their facilities at the airport.
We have a very dedicated and passionate Interact Club who give up a lot of their time to help others and we are confident our students are gaining valuable experiences through our club which will develop their compassion, empathy and tolerance.
