School vision

Pursue Excellence - Students at Aviation High School pursue academic excellence and social responsibility in a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.

School values

The School’s five core values are embedded in every endeavour that the students undertake. We value students who demonstrate:

Responsibility - Be accountable for your own actions, resolve differences in peaceful ways and take care of the environment.

Integrity - Act with honesty, trustworthiness, loyalty, truthfulness, courtesy, understanding, reliability and ethical behaviour.

Respect - Treat self and others with consideration and regard as individuals of worth.

Learning - Engage with others to develop knowledge, understanding and skills to maximise academic, social and personal abilities.

Passion for Aviation - Students enjoy all learning experiences at Aviation High School, by being positive, committed and willing to embrace challenge and change.

Aviation High School is committed to providing a supportive school environment where all members feel safe and are valued; where social and academic learning outcomes are maximised for all through a quality curriculum, interpersonal relationships and school organisation; where school practices are proactive rather than reactive and where appropriate non discriminatory language and behaviours are defined, modelled and reinforced.

Champion House - House Points Competition

The house points competition is about "Passion for Aviation High". The winning house displays all the traits that resemble our school values. Responsibility, Integrity, Respect, Learning and Passion For Aviation High. The house point system is a year-long competition where students earn points and for their house through academic success, sporting achievement and participation and representation of school service and school culture. This competition allows all students to contribute to their house, Miller, Hinkler or Kingsford-Smith. Throughout the term our school pauses for updates to see who is leading the house points competition. These announcements at whole school parades and year level assemblies provides us time to formally acknowledge and celebrate the success of our staff and students. The house points competition allows all members of the Aviation High Community to recognise and congratulate staff and students on the wonderful programs, efforts, service and achievements of our High School. The Champion House of the year is announced at our Annual Awards Night. Students of the winning house are invited to attend a House celebration Day.
