Maths Extension Club
Budding Year 7 and Year 8 mathematicians have the opportunity to advance their mathematics "toolkit" by participating in our weekly Maths Extension Club. Students work through a range of concepts normally developed in Year 10 and 11. While this poses a big challenge, it is exactly what our Maths Extension Club students keep coming back for.
National Youth Science Forum
Each year, Rotary Brisbane Airport offers one of our students a half-scholarship for the NYSF Year 12 Program - a 10-day residential program designed to give students a broader understanding of the diverse study and career options available in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). In 2020, we actually had two students meet the rigorous application standard!

Coding Club
Each week, students from all year levels meet after school to enhance their coding skills. Students use problem solving skills to build and code using Lego robotics to complete group challenges. Some students participate in more advanced coding, where they collaborate with their peers to create programs using python.
Girls Only Coding
Girls Only Coding is our popular three week after school program aimed at in years 4-6. Students from our feeder primary schools attend once a week after school and learn the basics of coding with the BBC Microbit. Our culminating activity is the creation and coding of a 'Micro-pet'.
Coding for primary teachers
Aviation High offers a short course on coding with the BBC Microbit for primary school teachers. Our course is an introductory level and offers curriculum links to primary school digital technologies. The course is flexibly delivered and tailored to the needs of the attending primary teachers.
