National Youth Science Forum
Each year, Rotary Brisbane Airport offers one of our students a half-scholarship for the NYSF Year 12 Program - a 10-day residential program designed to give students a broader understanding of the diverse study and career options available in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The Science Experience
Each year, Rotary Brisbane Airport supports Year 10 students to attend TSE, a 3-day experience for students interested in pursuing a career in STEM. The program is designed to provide students who have an interest in science with an opportunity to engage in a wide range of fascinating science activities under the guidance of scientists who love their work.
STEM at Aviation High
STEM-X
Aviation High runs STEM-X – an extension maths, science and technology club aimed at students in Years 7-10. Students participate in a range of competitions including the Queensland Association of Maths Teachers' problem-solving competition, held in term 1. Additionally, students participate in Robocup junior and the engineering link group's spaghetti bridge competition (in terms 2 and 3). STEM-X students conclude the year by participating in the Queensland Science Competition, run by Queensland Science Teachers' Association.
